I have to admit, I enjoy reading people's comments about articles and news stories on the internet. I also like to read message boards (mostly KSU). I enjoy reading and hearing people's opinions about stuff that I am interested in. Two of the most common places I like to read these message boards at are theofficetally.com, a fan site for the television show "The Office", and the KSU scout.com website.
The Office tally is a great tool for any office fan out there. You can get synopses of the upcoming episodes, quotes from previous episodes, and see videos of promos and specials. Visitors are welcome to post on any of these features, but I am most interested in what people have to say about the episodes that recently aired. This past season, the main character of the show, Michael Scott (Played by Steve Carell), leaves the show for good. I was anxious to see how people felt about the way the show went about handling this delicate situation. Before I dive into this any further, I want to make it known that I fully respect every person's opinion whether or not I agree with it. With that said, I was thoroughly frustrated when I began reading these thoughts.
Lets start this analysis with the fact that I enjoy watching the show for what it is: a show. These people, on the other hand, take it way too far. They dig way too deep into the plot and try to disect it, which is clearly not the point of the show. One of the most irritating things was that they kept saying "Michael/Steve" in their posts, as if the people reading didn't know already. It truly bothered me, although it shouldn't have.
I won't delve into that any longer, but there are so many little things that upset me with those opinions. But these little things are greatly outweighed by the numerous witty and smart comments left by most readers.
The K-State Scout website is an awesome place to find some of the hot rumors about KSU athletics. It is also a fun place to speculate about the statuses about my favorite teams and a place to get opinions about the teams that represent my school. It is a place I frequent regularly and I have had very little problems with seeing as its a place for K-State fans, by K-State fans.
If you are a fan of "The Office" or a fan of K-State, or even both, I recommend visiting these sites just once to see whats in store!
